Sail Shape - Its Importance

Your sail is the motor that drives your boat, wind is the fuel that runs your motor. To get the most out of available wind force, sail shape and its ability to retain its air foil governs its horsepower rating.

SAILBONE® battens are a controlled force influencing and retaining the sail shape.

SAILBONE® shapes your sail similar to a rib cage with the cloth filling the spaces between the ribs/battens.

SAILBONE® will give your sail a firm shape resulting in more horsepower and the elimination of fluttering, while greatly increasing the lifespan of your sailcloth.
